Rachel & Darren

“I try to live my life where I end up at a point where I have no regrets. So I try to choose the road that I have the most passion on because then you can never really blame yourself for making the wrong choices. You can always say you’re following your passion.” -Darren Aronofsky

Rachel & DarrenDarren Aronofsky was born 12th February 1969 in Brooklyn, New York (which makes him an Aquarius). Growing up, Darren was always artistic; he loved classic movies and as a teenager he even spent time doing graffiti art. After high school, Darren went to Harvard University to study film (both live action and animation). He won several film awards after completing his senior thesis film, Supermarket Sweep (starring Sean Gullette), which went on to becoming a National Student Academy Award finalist. Aronofsky didn’t make a feature film until 5 years later, in [February] 1996, where he began creating the concept for Pi (1998). After Darren’s Pi script received great reactions from friends, he began production. (The film re-teamed Aronofsky with Gullette, who played the lead.) Aronofsky’s best known films include the Oscar-nominated Requiem for a Dream starring Jennifer Connelly, Ellen Burstyn and Jared Leto (2000) and Pi - both indie masterpieces.

Weisz announced her secret romance with the “Sophisticated American” in summer 2002 - “We’ve been together for a year. We agreed it would be good to keep things quiet for as long as possible. In the past I haven’t always managed not to talk about my private life. I am planning to live in New York though I will keep my place in Primrose Hill (London).” They don’t want to talk about the relationship in the public and managed to keep it a secret for over a year. Rachel moved to New York in early 2003 to be with him and said he makes her happy. Spring 2005 they finished working (together) on The Fountain, which Afonofsky co-wrote and directed.

Rachel & DarrenIn the spring of 2005 news of Darren proposing to Rachel leaked out. Darren had phoned Rachel’s father to ask for permission for his daughter’s hand and then he proposed in the hubbub of New York’s Times Square after the couple returned from filming his new movie The Fountain in Montreal. Of course, Rachel Weisz answered “yes” to the big question.

More great news came in January 2006 when Rachel announced that she was 5 months pregnant with the couples first child. May 31st, 2006 Rachel gave birth to their son, Henry Chance Aronofsky.
