Yes, I heard about Ryan Gosling leaving. Rumor has it that he left because Peter Jackson wasn't pleased that Gosling had changed his appearance so dramatically for the film, so he left, and Mark Wahlberg took his place. Apparently, Jackson had never instructed Gosling to gain weight and grow a beard.
